Rhoda discovered her love of languages and cultures while living in Belgium for four years. She has been an ASL/English interpreter for fifteen years, and has been active in the Oklahoma Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf serving as parliamentarian, conference chair person, and vice president. She obtained her National Interpreter Certification in 2011 and has interpreted in numerous contexts including education, video relay, community, faith, and performing arts. Rhoda completed graduate school at Western Oregon University researching secondary educational interpreters’ professional practices and earning a Master of Arts in Interpreting Studies. Rhoda is currently an Assistant Professor, educating interpreting students, and an actively practicing interpreter.
