Independent Contract Interpreter

Samuel grew up in Oklahoma and began learning ASL in college.  Since graduating from OSU-OKC in 2014 with an associate’s degree in ASL Interpreting, he has worked as an interpreter in a variety of settings including K-12 Education, Medical, Mental Health, Religious, Trainings, Community Events and his favorite — post-secondary.  Samuel works full time as a private practice interpreter, and it is his favorite job to date!

He loves socializing with the Deaf community and other interpreters as well as attending interpreting workshops and training to continually improve his skill.  He also volunteers with the Oklahoma Chapter of Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.  When Samuel is not working, he enjoys reading books, watching movies, playing board games, and hanging out with his Great Dane.

Samuel holds an Oklahoma QAST V / V certification in both Interpreting and Transliterating and is registered as an Educational Interpreter with the Oklahoma State Department of Education.  He is actively working on attaining RID certification.
