Stacie Fuentes
Freelance Interpreter
Independent Contract Interpreter
I was first introduced to American Sign Language and the Deaf community during my elementary school years, where I grew up alongside Deaf peers. This early experience sparked a lifelong passion for Deaf education and communication access. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Deaf Education from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) in 2009.
From 2010 to 2015, I served as a Deaf Education teacher in both elementary and high school self-contained classroom settings in Yuma, Arizona, through the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind’s Southwest Cooperative. After returning to Oklahoma in 2015, I transitioned into interpreting, successfully passing the QAST and beginning work as a freelance community interpreter. Since then, I have maintained an active presence in the field and currently hold QAST Level V/V certification, as well as national certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
