Independent Contract Interpreter

I am new to Oklahoma having just moved here in January of 2023. I spent my first year working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, but returned to interpreting after a sabbatical at the end of 2023. Prior to that, I have worked as a freelance interpreter since my graduation from California State University, Northridge with my Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Studies focused on ASL/English Interpreting in 2013. One minor exception would be the year I spent as a Client Advocate at a Deaf owned/operated non-profit between 2021-2022 just prior to my relocation. In 2023 I passed my EIPA with a 4.5 and became QAST V/V in 2024. I’m now working towards additional certifications and advancements as life settles down after the move.
